I love to sit down with a sketchbook and try to capture a face. Often mine, since it is the most readily available.

Silhouette Style Illustrations

Some time ago I thought it would be fun to illustrate a fairy tale from my childhood in the silhouette style of Jan Pienkowski or some of Arthur Rackham’s works. I knew this story as “Ezeltje Strekje,” but in English it’s usually called something like “The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Ass, and the Cudgel in the Sack.”
